The Flash Magazine - September 2019 edition
Abstract
This year’s graduation ceremony comes at a time when the education sector
in the Country is undergoing a major transformation. A few years from now,
universities will be hosting a completely different cadre of students who
will be in their final phase of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC). In
anticipation of this revolution, the University of Embu has, and continues to strategize
itself as a credible first-class institution of higher learning. In this 4th
Graduation
Ceremony Special Souvenir Issue, we focus on the strides that students, staff and the
entire University community has taken since the 3
rd
graduation ceremony.
In the news is the establishment of the School of Law and consequent admission
of pioneer Bachelor of Laws students in the 2019/2020 Academic Year. This is not
a mean achievement for the University, bearing in mind the rigours involved in the
establishment of the programme and the accreditation process by the Commission
for University Education (CUE) and the Council of Legal Education (CLE).
The Editorial Board congratulates the fresh graduates and wishes them God’s
blessings as they go out to serve in various capacities. We wish to remind them that
graduating from one level introduces them to the next level and they need to remain
focused and determined in order to exploit the full potential that the Lord has put in
them.
Congratulations!
